The real estate industry is, without a doubt, interesting and entertaining at the same time. We have ups in the market, we have downs in the market, but the one thing that continues to stay constant are the types of agents we are surrounded with…
1. Drama Queens
The “Drama Queen Agents” are those that blow everything out of proportion. They make “not a big deal” into major issues and oftentimes cause themselves unnecessary stress and anxiety.
Gossipers usually correlate with the drama queens to form one hell of a soap opera. Did you hear about what Mary did last weekend while her husband was on a business trip?
3. The Sneaky Rats
These are the agents you have to watch out for because they’ll do everything and anything for a lead. They hover over your desk to try to quickly scan your area for anything they might be able to prey on.
Also referred to as “know-it-alls”. These agents can be both fun and annoying. Fun, because they come to your office and act like they know everything there is to know about selling real estate. Annoying because 9 times out of 10 they come up short. Even though you may be right, you don’t say anything to them because they will create an argument as to why you’re wrong. They should be lawyers!
5. Negative Nancy
The sky is falling, the sky is falling! The market is terrible! Nobody wants to buy or sell right now! There are no jobs! The real estate business is going down the drain. Don’t even bother getting into the business! These people are negative and you should stay away from them; don’t let them drag you down with them!
A new “type” of real estate agent has arrived… “Facebookaholic”. These are the agents who spend almost all of their time on Facebook; chatting with friends, updating their status, and playing games like Farmville. If you want to know what they’re up to, simply check their Facebook status.
These are the agents who everyone wants to “be” like. These are the agents who listen to their coaches, follow their schedule, track their numbers, and do 70-80% of everything they’re supposed to do.
Which category do you fit into? Which category would you like to be in and what will you do to get there?
