Have you ever thought about the fact that the only person that stops any of us from being more productive is the person in the mirror? Over the last 5 to 6 years, depending on where you live, we’ve had the best time we’ve ever experienced in playing the blame game and trying to decide whose fault it has been as to why we have not been more productive.
It’s the economy … it’s the banking system … it’s the mortgage companies … it’s the greed of buyers and sellers … it’s the lack of motivation coming from my company … etc, etc, etc. When I see and hear these things nearly every day, which I do, I always have to smile because the truth of the matter is … any agent that is diligently working every day, putting in an honest day’s effort, with good skills and a strong mindset, is doing just fine.
Yes, in many parts of North America the average sales price is down 40% to 60% and therefore the average commission is down 40% to 60%. This simply means we have to upgrade everything we’re doing to list and sell a higher quantity of homes to regain the income we’ve lost. If we choose not to do this … it’s our choice.
If we choose to do this … it’s our choice also. Let’s think about the choices we’re making each day because there are plenty of buyers and sellers that need you, your attitude, your great work ethic and your abilities. Go find them, list them, and sell them.
