There are several different “keys to success”, but the most important is your ability to take action. You want financial security, great vacations, cool cars, but are you willing to do what it takes to get them? Think about it. If there is no action, how can you expect a reaction?  You want the great vacations and the good times, but are you willing to do what it takes to get them? Taking action is the skill which ultimately determines the winners from the losers.

Has there ever been a time in your career where you passed by a FSBO’s house or an expired listing and thought about knocking on that door, but didn’t? How about deciding not to knock on the doors in the neighborhood of your listing? We know that when one home is listed, a few more homes go up for sale right away, so why wouldn’t you want to take action on that? What’s holding you back… Taking Action!

Top Producer vs. Lower Producers

Top Producers:

  1. Are never satisfied with what they have. They are always striving to grow, to become more effective and efficient.
  2. Create goals for almost everything in their life.
  3. Are always working on something.
  4. Live in the power of now and prepare for the future.
  5. Believe that anything is possible. There is nothing they can’t do if they put their minds to it.
  6. Do not let anything get in the way of them taking action.
  7. Believe in strong accountability.
  8. Set and follow a schedule.
  9. Use scripted presentations, and put their ego aside
  10. Are always looking for new business.

Lower Producers:

  1. Are satisfied with a few commission checks a year. They suffer from complacency.
  2. Tend to wander through life aimlessly and don’t set or review their goals.
  3. Do things only when they feel it is necessary.
  4. Dwell on the past instead of propelling themselves forward.
  5. Doubt their abilities and focus on the “can’t” rather than the “can”.
  6. Allow themselves to be distracted, to get off a schedule.
  7. Are bothered by other people watching over them.
  8. Sit back, and take what comes their way.
  9. Wing it.
  10. Wait for business to come to them.

As you begin to compare yourself to the 2 categories above, where would you say you spend most of your time? Would you consider yourself to have the mindset of a top producer or do you fall under the category of a low producer.  Are you at least beginning to acknowledge where you are today. Whether you fit in one category or the other, what will you do today to take yourself to the next level?
