Objection: “I’m already listing with another agent tonight”

Submitted by Neil Schwartz on November 11, 2009 – 11:23 pmComments

RealtorImageObjection: We already interviewed agents and have chosen one. We are signing the contract with them tonight

Agent:
Interesting, let me ask you this…

Did you choose that agent because you were 100% convinced they could sell your house… or … were you just a little frustrated with the process?

Seller: Well I think it is the right, but I guess I’m a little frustrated too.

Agent: To make sure that you are 100% convinced you are doing the right thing… I can come by tonight… and show you how I get homes sold. It only takes about 15 minutes of your time… would 6 or 6:15 be better?

Seller: Well we already made a decision so thanks but no thanks

Agent: Mr./Mrs. ____, before you tie yourself up… in a multi-month contract… for thousands of dollars… don’t you think you owe it to yourself… to get one more opinion? I can come by today at 5 or would 5:15 be better?

Seller: We are really tired of interviewing agents

Agent: Mr./Mrs. ____, just you saying that… causes you to see why you should take the time to meet with me… it only takes 15 minutes… I can be there at 5 or 5:15, which would be better?

Seller: I don’t know, my husband/wife has made up their mind regarding the agent.

Agent: I understand Mr./Mrs.____, let me ask you this,… if I could get this home sold in the next 30 days… would that cause you a problem?

Seller: Well… no.

Agent: Great, then let’s set a time so I can show you how I get homes sold. Would 5 or 5:15 be better?
