The Power of a Compliment

The Power of a Compliment

Have you realized that you can quickly build rapport with people by making genuine compliments? One of the things I covered in our how to prospect expired listings post is to give compliments. ¬†Remember, whether it’s from a spouse, family member, friend, or a complete stranger, people are always seeking validation. Unfortunately, most people focus too much on themselves, and fail to look to compliment others. I came across this inspiring video on the power of compliments… take a look.

The full video is about 16 minutes, click here if you’d like to watch it.

Thanks for sharing this video. People want to be acknowledge. Before, growing up I wanted to hear, that I was doing great! Unfortunately, I didn’t get that message. Fortunately, today, I am validated by God! The minute I was born, I was validated by God. I was competing with millions and millions of sperm, and I was the fastest, smartest, and most determined to get to the finish line, but through experiences, I forgot.

I have peeled and removed layers and layers of thoughts that were lies. They say, BMW is the “Ultimate driving machine”. I would disagree, a human being is the “Ultimate driving machine!” We are an amazing species, I heard Craig Benjamin once say, “I am a breathing living miracle!” We truly are! Why not acknowledge the fact!

Neil, you are an awesome Broker! Keep up the good work!

Good post and I like the look of your blog. And yes, this is a true compliment :) Anyway, I make it a practice to hand out 3 to 5 sincere compliments a day. It’s amazing to see peoples faces glow after making a compliment. I think it’s that way because we live in such a negative culture and when someone hears something nice it takes them by surprise and it’s memorable.
