When we started the month, we had 20 work days left until the Retreat….Last week we had 15…Now 10 work days until the retreat.
There is still time to build the plan. That plan should look like this:
-
Determine how many complete past client and centers of influence are in your database with…
Complete mail addresses…E-mail addresses… and Cell phone numbers along with a good land line that they answer.
-
How many with a cell number only?
-
How many e-mail addresses only?
In next 15 work days between now and Superstar Retreat…
Send 3 e-mails to past clients 1 per week and send 1 set of snail mail post cards.
We want you to touch your centers of influence 4 times before the Superstar Retreat. Where are you on that? How many of you have started? Do any of you have the numbers for us?
If you didn’t do any of the above… Do you know why you did not do the work?
Because… somewhere in the back of your mind you thought you had an option not to…If this helps….Imagine that if you don’t do this work your boss is going to fire you…
If that was the case would you do the work?
Take out a business card..
Write on it, “I will determine the numbers of:”
Determine how many complete past clients and centers of influence you have in your database with…
Complete mail addresses
Email addresses
Cell phone numbers and a good land line that they will answer.
How many with cell number only?
How many with e-mail addresses only?
Then turn it in to us. Do it now if you’re going to do it!
Everyone that turns it in next week we will ask you personally if you did the work. If you did, you will be entered into a drawing for one of 3 $10 Starbucks cards….
How did you feel doing the homework?
Remember, there is a direct relationship between self-discipline and self esteem.
The more you practice self-mastery and self-control, the more you like and value yourself.
The more you discipline yourself the greater is your sense of self-respect and personal pride.
The more you practice self-discipline the better your self-image. You see yourself and think about yourself in a more positive way. You feel happier and more powerful as a person.
Discipline
Hard work
Taking action
Consistency

Complacency
I want to revisit the word complacency
Synonyms from Webster’s dictionary for complacency are :
bighead, ego, egotism, pompousness, pride, pridefulness, self-admiration, self-assumption, self-conceit, self-congratulation, self-esteem, self-glory, self-importance, self-love, self-opinion, self-satisfaction, smugness, swelled head.
You think to yourself…..You had a good month… you had a good quarter… therefore I am good.
You only look at the current results. The current closings. The current pending’s. The current listings. You don’t look out toward the future and fully understand that it was your consistent handwork and momentum that got you here.
You tend to take a pause, even so slight. You take a breath and whisper to yourself, “I can back off a little now.I have a little room to breathe.”
I can take advantage of my good fortune and hard work. “I deserve it” ..the market is changing for the better a little (at least for me) so therefore business will be good for me going forward from here.
We think to ourselves that the hard part is behind us at least for now.
Most people don’t consider themselves as complacent because they think it means they’re lazy.
I’ve known agents who work 70 hours per week (certainly not lazy), but are so content with their results that they don’t hold themselves accountable for their daily activates.
Complacency is almost always a product of success, or perceived success.
And the perception can remain long after the success has disappeared.
It is successful people who are most susceptible to complacency. What is your definition of success?
As your leader… it is my job to recognize this and point it out and develop a plan to insure that this does not happen.
Prosperity drains urgency.
As prosperity increases, the work ethic and intensity can diminish unless the leadership continues to create a healthy sense of urgency that propels the team to focus on greater gains and bigger wins.
Just because someone has a full schedule and his or her days are jam packed with activities doesn’t mean they’re not complacent.
What’s more important than motion or speed? Progress.
It’s common for complacent people to work frenetically and still not grow their business.
A key to beating complacency is not doing a lot; it’s doing more of what matters most.
The best medicine to use in the fight against complacency is a sense of urgency.
A healthy sense of urgency comes from the acceptance that the pace of change is quickening and will not go away. Get this and get it fast. The business is changing and if you are not changing with it…you will be left behind again.
“If you are born poor, it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it is certainly your fault” – Bill Gates
Today matters!
Ramp it up!
Don’t stop doing the activities that got you here!
How many 5- 5- 10’s will you do this week?
What scripts will you commit to re writing and internalizing?
How many past clients and centers of influence will you contact this week and let them know about the great changes in the market place?
Remember… it is baby steps daily not giant steps occasionally that get us to our goals…
Now lets go out and make this our best week ever!
